Public visitation planned for Deputy Aleman Monday
FRANKLIN -- Funeral services are planned for Monday, August 6th for Milwaukee County Sheriff's Deputy Sergio Aleman. Deputy Aleman was killed following a crash on I-43 last week, after his freeway assistance vehicle slammed into a tow truck that had stopped due to slowing traffic. Deputy Aleman left behind a wife, and five children.
Outside the Max A. Sass and Sons Funeral Home in Franklin, the American flag was lowered to half staff in Deputy Aleman's honor. Funeral home officials say they're anticipating a huge crowd for Deputy Aleman's services Monday.
On Monday evening, the public is invited to pay their respects to Deputy Aleman's family.
Funeral home president, James Sass says the crowd could top 1,000. Sass says they are prepared for a list of high-ranking officials and a strong showing from the public.
"Just come. I think it would make the family feel very good to see the outpouring of support they have," Sass said.
The visitation will be held Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Sass and Sons Funeral Home on Drexel Avenue in Franklin.
The funeral home says the last hour will be reserved for family only.
A memorial service is planned for Tuesday, August 7th at St. Patrick's Church on Washington Avenue in Milwaukee.
Additionally, two funds have been established to benefit Deputy Aleman's family:
