Pursuit on I-43 with speeds reaching 90 miles-per-hour ends near Cedar Grove
OZAUKEE/SHEBOYGAN COUNTIES (WITI) -- A driver is in custody after a pursuit ended near Cedar Grove on New Year's Eve, Wednesday, December 31st.
Sheboygan County Sheriff's officials say the pursuit began in the northbound lanes of I-43 in Ozaukee County around 8:30 p.m.
We're told a vehicle with a lone driver fled after Ozaukee County Sheriff's deputies tried to stop the vehicle. Ozaukee County Sheriff's officials called Sheboygan County Sheriff's officials for assistance with the pursuit.
The vehicle headed northbound on I-43 into Sheboygan County before exiting at Highway 32. The vehicle then proceeded west on Highway 32 towards Cedar Grove before pulling into a driveway.
The driver of the vehicle was then taken into custody on a warrant out of Ozaukee County. We're told a taser was used on the man. He was not injured.
Law enforcement officials say it's unclear at this point why the driver fled.
We're told speeds reached 90 miles-per-hour during the pursuit.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
