Racine Co. man run over by intoxicated truck driver

UNION GROVE -- A man was run over by a truck in Racine County early Monday morning. The Racine County Communications Center responded to a call around 2:33 a.m. Monday regarding the incident which occurred near 11th Avenue in Union Grove.

Racine County deputies responded to the scene locating the victim, the offending vehicle, and its operator. The operator of the vehicle failed field sobriety tests, and was arrested for injury by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle.

The operator was taken to the Racine County Jail. The victim suffered serious injuries, and was transported to the hospital.

The Racine County Sheriff's Department was assisted at the scene by the Union Grove/Yorkville Fire and Rescue. Officials say the incident remains under invesitgation.
