Racine Co. Sheriff's officials seek suspect after pursuit Monday afternoon
RACINE (WITI) -- Racine County Sheriff's officials are seeking a suspect following a pursuit on Monday afternoon, March 31st.
A Sheriff's deputy made a traffic stop on Monday afternoon, around 12:40 p.m. on I-94 northbound near County Highway G. Sheriff's officials say the driver was traveling at a speed of 99 miles-per-hour in a 65 mile-per-hour speed zone.
As the deputy approached the vehicle on foot, the suspect fled at a high rate of speed.
The deputy began to pursue the suspect at speeds reaching 100 miles-per-hour.
The suspect exited I-94 at S. 27th Street, and continued northbound on S. 27th Street.
The pursuit was ultimately terminated on 27th Street south of Rawson Avenue in Oak Creek.
The suspect was last seen driving northbound on 27th Street from Rawson Avenue.
The total distance of the pursuit was seven miles.
The investigation is ongoing.
