Racine corrections officer acquitted of sexual assault of child
RACINE (WITI) -- A Racine corrections officer accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl was found not guilty on Thursday, January 24th of all charges against him.
Aaron Pope was originally charged in 2009 with repeated sexual assault of a child, exposing a child to harmful material and child enticement involving sexual contact.
The prosecution said he was sexually involved with a young girl a year before that.
Prosecutors also said he showed pornographic material to the girl.
None of this could be proven in court, and Pope will be released from custody.
