Racine man faces six counts of possession of child porn

RACINE (WITI) -- 44-year-old Kent Sargent of Racine faces six felony charges of possession of child pornography in Racine County.

According to the criminal complaint, an investigator with the Racine County Sheriff's Department was conducting an investigation into the sharing of child pornography files in late January.

During the investigation, the complaint indicates files depicting children in sexual acts were linked to an IP address which belonged to Sargent. Over the period of a month, the complaint says the investigator was able to download various files of child porn.

On Monday, February 24th, investigators executed a search warrant on Sargent's home and seized a laptop computer which contained video files of child pornography.

If convicted, Sargent faces up to 25 years in prison and $100,000 in fines.
