Racine police: 17-year-old boy found with injury to arm may be responsible for forcibly entering home
RACINE -- Racine police say a 17-year-old boy found with a severe injury to his arm on Sunday afternoon, November 1st may be responsible for forcibly entering a home near LaSalle and Hagerer Street.
Police say around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, they responded to the area near Walton and Erie Street for a male running in the area, bleeding heavily.
The 17-year-old boy initially identified himself using a false name, police say, and indicated he was a victim of a crime during which he had been injured.
The boy was taken to the hospital, and officers located the parents of the boy whose name was offered by the suspect.
Upon their arrival to the emergency room, it was determined the 17-year-old boy who was hurt was not who he had said he was. He was later identified by investigating officers.
Officers, assisted by a K-9 officer, followed a blood trail from where the suspect was located to the area near LaSalle Street and Hagerer Street. There, they located a home that had been forcibly entered.
The 17-year-old had to have emergency surgery to repair the injury to his arm.
