Racine police: Eight-year-old boy critically injured after he was hit by an SUV
RACINE (WITI) -- Racine police say an eight-year-old boy was critically injured when he was struck by a car on Thursday afternoon, October 9th.
It happened in the 1200 block of Washington Avenue around 3:30 p.m.
Police say the child was located in the roadway. He was taken to a hospital in Racine, and transported to Children's Hospital by Flight for Life for further treatment.
Police say their preliminary investigating indicates the child was attempting to cross Washington Avenue westbound. He was struck by an eastbound SUV. The child was thrown into the westbound traffic lane.
Police say the SUV remained at the scene.
This incident remains under investigation.
