Racine police search for bank robbery suspect
RACINE -- Racine police responded to a report of a bank robbery Wednesday afternoon, May 30th on Martin Luther King Dr.
Police say the male suspect entered the Wells Fargo bank located at 1700 Martin Luther King Dr. around 3:50 pm. Wednesday and demanded money.
The bank employee complied with the suspect's demand and handed over money. Once the suspect received the money he exited the bank and proceed south, running to Charles St.
Responding authorities searched the area, but they were unable to locate the suspect.
The suspect is described as an African American male, 30-40 years old, with a medium build, long dreadlocks and a goatee.
Police say a person of interest in this robbery was taken into custody Wednesday evening, May 30th by the Kenosha Police Department in the city of Kenosha. Officials say the male is in custody at the Racine County Jail on a probation hold.
Authorities say the incident remains under investigation.
