RACINE, Wis. - The Racine County officers who shot and killed Timothy Burgess during a traffic stop on May 22 won't be charged, District Attorney Patricia Hanson announced Monday, July 24.
The Wisconsin Department of Justice investigation revealed "no basis to prosecute."
It started with a call for shots fired in Mount Pleasant on May 21. Police said Burgess fired at his wife, and a child in the home called 911.
Hours later, police tried to pull over a Range Rover and said Burgess ran, hiding in tall grass at Clayton Park.
