RACINE, Wis. - A school bus and a pickup truck were involved in a Racine crash on Thursday, Sept. 7.
It happened outside a child care facility at Goold and Eerie. Racine police said a child was on the bus, but was not hurt.
"Every crash that happens here it sounds like it’s in my front yard," said Danielle Kruse. "I ran down there, there was a woman in the truck who had initially hit the bus. She had a big cut on her arm her leg was red. She was very distraught."

Residents were in disbelief that a school bus was involved in another crash. Less than 24 hours earlier, a school bus and a city bus crashed at Goold and Shoop – roughly 15 blocks away. Police said six of the nine people involved in that crash were taken to hospitals, and no kids were on that school bus at the time.
"Today I went to one of the stores, and every stop sign, every red light, I made sure I waited," said Rachel Drenkahn. " It kind of scares you, it could happen to anybody."

Neighbors said a large tree blocked the view of a crucial stop sign at the Goold and Schoop intersection. That tree was noticeably trimmed Thursday morning.
"I’m going to say between 8-8:30 a.m. a city worker came out," Drenkahn said. "Had like a little saw thing, and he trimmed branches off of it.
"It’s just why put a tree next to signs that people need to pay attention to?"

For now, neighbors said the two crashes have left them uneasy.
"For it to have happened yesterday and today seems crazy," said Kruse.
Racine police said both of the crashes remain under investigation, but they are interested in speaking to witnesses regarding the Wednesday crash at Goold and Shoop.
