MILWAUKEE -- Excitement is building for the 2016 Milwaukee Holiday Parade -- set to roll on Saturday morning, November 19th.
From its start in 1927, the Milwaukee Holiday Parade remains a cherished holiday tradition. Featuring approximately 100 units -- including marching bands, floats, giant helium balloons, local celebrities, costumed characters, live animals, specialty vehicles and Santa Claus. Parade attendance is free.
In 2003, Johnson Controls committed to a financial gift on behalf of the company’s employees. They have continued to support the parade every year since, and hundreds of employees and their families volunteer their time to benefit Hunger Task Force's Food for Families program.
The parade route begins at 9:30 a.m. on Kilbourn Avenue and Astor Street, continues west to Old World 3rd Street where it turns left and continues south to Wisconsin Avenue. The parade officially ends in front of The Shops of Grand Avenue on the corner of Old World 3rd Street and Wisconsin Avenue.
If you're not able to get downtown to see the parade in person, you're in luck! FOX6 will be broadcasting the parade live starting at 9:30 a.m. We also plan to stream the parade on FOX6Now.com and the FOX6 News Facebook page.
