"Really scary:" Racine police say 69-year-old woman sexually assaulted during home invasion
RACINE -- Racine police are seeking a suspect in connection with a home invasion during which a 69-year-old woman was sexually assaulted.
It happened on Saturday, December 12th shortly before 5:00 a.m. at a home near Martin Luther King Drive and Hamilton Street in Racine.
Police say responding officers learned a suspect forcibly entered the home and sexually assaulted the woman.
Investigators are following several leads, and continue to process evidence.
Police are looking for a light-skinned, black male, standing 5'10" tall.
This crime has shocked many who live in the area.
"I thought we were pretty safe around this neighborhood," one neighbor said. "To hear about this right on our block, that`s scary. That`s really scary. That could be somebody`s grandma. If that happened to my grandmother, boy -- I`d be really upset."
"Everybody is scared to come outside. We lock our doors. All we can do is look out for each other," Noemi Ortega said.
