Recognize her? Mount Pleasant police hope you can help ID this theft suspect
MOUNT PLEASANT (WITI) -- Mount Pleasant police are asking for the public's help in identifying a woman suspected of theft.
On August 8, 2014, a Village of Mount Pleasant resident reported that her vehicle was broken into while it was parked at a local country club. The victim’s wallet was stolen from the vehicle.
While following up on leads in this case, investigators learned a female suspect made a cash withdrawal of several thousand dollars from the victim’s bank account.
The suspect in the photos above is described to be a female, white, 40-50 years of age, brown hair with blonde streaks, 165-185 lbs, 5'4-5'6 tall, wearing glasses and a wedding band. Officials say the suspect then made a large purchase using one of the victim’s stolen credit cards. Investigators have linked the suspect to other vehicle break-ins and subsequent identity thefts in cities throughout Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, and Michigan from 2008 through 2014. Investigations have found that the suspect will sometimes purchase hair dyes and other cosmetics to match the appearance of the victim prior to the bank withdrawal.
If anyone can identify the female in the photographs please contact Investigator Mark Haleen at the Mount Pleasant Police Department, e-mail address investigations@mtpleasantwi.gov Otherwise, anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (262) 636-9330 or by sending a text message to CRIMES (274637) and typing in TIP417 with your text message.
