Red Cross assists seven children, two adults following bedroom fire in Racine
RACINE -- The American Red Cross was assisting seven children and two adults following a fire on Monday morning, April 18th.
The fire broke out at a home near 12th and Highland in Racine shortly before 11:00 a.m.
Officials with the Racine Fire Department say the fire happened in a bedroom.
No one was home at the time of the fire, which was quickly extinguished.
One pet cat was found trapped, but unharmed, and subsequently released.
The fire remains under investigation.
