MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Marquette University’s Department of Public Safety is warning students to be alert — after a robbery in downtown Milwaukee near campus.
It happened in the 500 block of 16th Street at approximately 5:50 a.m. Wednesday, May 6th.
According to officials, a male suspect approached a Marquette employee, displayed a weapon and demanded property. The victim gave up property and the suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction. The victim was not physically injured.
The suspect is described as a black male in his mid-20s with a thin build and approximately 6'0" tall. He was wearing dark pants and a grey sweatshirt.
