Roberto Rodriguez charged in connection with shooting incident
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- 18-year-old Roberto Rodriguez is now criminally charged with four counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety for his alleged role in a shooting incident that took place on Milwaukee's south side on Monday, August 26th.
Police say three teens were shot and wounded. They included a 15-year-old, a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old.
According to the criminal complaint in this case, this incident started with a game of pickup basketball and that somehow led to an argument. The complaint indicates someone at the scene called Rodriguez because some boys in the neighborhood "had threatened to take over their house and were armed with a gun." Rodriguez apparently came to the neighborhood -- and that's when the shooting occurred.
When detectives asked Rodriguez about the incident, he initially replied that he did not know why he came to the scene. But he later said, he "intended to scare the boys" on the court.
If convicted, Rodriguez faces up to 12-and-a-half years in prison plus $25,000 in fines.
