Russ Feingold continues to outraise Ron Johnson in Senate race
MADISON -- Democrat Russ Feingold continues to outraise Republican incumbent Sen. Ron Johnson in Wisconsin's hotly contested Senate race.
Through the first six months of the year, Feingold raised about $7.4 million compared with $4.9 million for Johnson.
Johnson's campaign says Tuesday, July 12th that he raised $2.8 million in the second quarter of the year, up from $2.1 million in the first three months.
Feingold raised nearly $3.3 million in the first quarter and $4.1 million over the three months ending in June.
Johnson says he has more than $6.3 million cash on hand. Feingold's campaign says he has $7.2 million on hand as of the end of June.
Both candidates are advertising heavily on television and outside groups have been spending millions on the race as well.
