St. John Vianney Festival: Food, music and carnival rides

BROOKFIELD, Wis. - For the first time since the coronavirus pandemic, a Brookfield parish festival tradition was fully back to normal June 9-11.

"It’s about a 40-year tradition," said John Clark, co-general manager of St. Vianney Parish Festival. "We’re here to have a fun festival. We’re also here to raise money, but at the same time, we wanna be able to be cost-effective for families to come out and enjoy." 

During the pandemic, the parish postponed the festival and completely canceled the race.

"Now that this one’s back, I’m here to support our church and to run this one," said runner Roxanne Kane.

"Summer starts here," Clark said. "So what are all the things you wanna do in the summertime? One of those things, get out and run."

The funds raised go to help their school, church and Milwaukee sister parish Prince of Peace.

"It feels great that I was able to give my money to a cause that matters," said the first-place winner Saathvik Gowda.

"Really, it’s about bringing people together," said Clark. "Our focus is having a fun, family-based and safe event for our community and for our parish families."

The fundraising event has over 150 volunteers.

The purpose of this event is to bring the parish together for summer fun and fellowship. It features great food, live music, games, carnival rides, a run for the pig and more.
