Santa arrives at Mayfair Mall, retailers gear up for holiday sales

The holiday shopping season has officially arrived at Mayfair Mall in Wauwatosa with the arrival of Santa. While the kids are excited, this is an anxious time for retailers wondering if families will open their wallets.

Stephen Smith is the Senior General Manager at Mayfair Mall, he says now is a good time to be a consumer. "It's not going to be a gang buster holiday season. No one is predicting off the chart numbers, but it is still supposed to be a pretty strong season," he says.

If you're looking to save some money, retailers are expecting another big year of discounts. Tracie Grube at Diamond Nexus, a jewelry store, says the store is already planning for big sales to make sure everyone grabs the perfect gift.

Retailers say one of the best places to search for deals is online. Also, Mayfair Mall has their own free smartphone app that lists all their stores coupons.
