Search underway for missing 40-year-old Milwaukee woman

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police are aiding in the search for a missing 40-year-old woman who hasn't been seen since Sunday morning, March 24th. Her name is Estella Currin.

Currin was last seen by family members at her home near 62nd and Capitol Dr. on the city's north side. However, her wallet (including her identification) and keys were found at the O'Donnell parking garage on Milwaukee's lakefront around 2 p.m. Sunday. The person who found the items walked them over to the Milwaukee Art Museum.

Family members tell FOX6 News there has been no cell phone or credit card use since Sunday. They say it's unlike Currin to be gone this long without contacting family.

"It's very strange. It's like she just vanished. This is not like her. She would never just leave and stay -- and go without contacting any family members," Currin's husband, Jeffrey said.

Jeffrey last saw his wife on Saturday, when they were at home together. On Sunday, she had to be up early to work first shift at Saint Camillus in Wauwatosa, but her husband says she was running behind.

"I'm late for work. I'm late. I got to go," was the last thing Currin's daughter heard her say as she rushed out of the house. However, Currin never showed up for work. She also hasn't showed up all week for her part-time job at Nurses Now in Shorewood.

"It's kind of strange that we live on 62nd and Capitol but her ID and keys are down by the Milwaukee Art Museum. This is out of character for her. She would never stay gone. She would never leave Anessa, her six-year-old," Jeffrey Currin said.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Milwaukee Police Department at 414-935-7271.

"If you know where she is, please have her phone home -- call home," Jeffrey Currin said.
