Seven arrested this weekend near Bradford Beach
MILWAUKEE -- It was the perfect day to hit up the beach on Saturday, May 19th - with temperatures in the mid-80s in most of southeastern Wisconsin, and mostly sunny skies. Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke Saturday activated his "Lakefront Safety Initiative," which resulted in Lincoln Memorial Drive being temporarily closed to create access routes for emergency vehicles responding to the lakefront.
Due to warm weather, a large number of people were attracted to the lakefront this weekend to enjoy the public space. Citizens engaged in fun family activities, bicycling and relief from the heat -- along with the chance to get out and enjoy the nice weather.
Sheriff’s deputies issued citations for traffic violations and arrested one male for Battery and six individuals (three juveniles and three adults) for fighting just south of the Bradford Beach House.
The six subjects fighting were arrested for Disorderly Conduct and no injuries were reported.
