Several in custody after separate vehicle thefts, pursuit in Menomonee Falls
MENOMONEE FALLS -- Menomonee Falls police say several people are in custody following separate vehicle thefts and one pursuit that occurred late on Saturday, January 2nd.
Police say two people are in custody following a report of a vehicle theft and subsequent pursuit.
Police say around 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle theft near Lynwood Drive and Menomonee Avenue.
Officers in the area observed the vehicle, and pursued it to the intersection of Menomonee Avenue and Town Line Road, where the vehicle left the roadway and became stuck in a snow bank.
The vehicle's passenger was taken into custody immediately.
Police say the driver fled the scene on foot.
A perimeter was established, and with the assistance of the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department and New Berlin K-9 officers the driver was taken into custody near Lannon Road and Schlei Road.
Incident in Town of Lisbon
During the investigation, police say an additional vehicle theft was reported near Menomonee Avenue and Sheridan Drive.
Several suspects in another vehicle were stopped and taken into custody regarding these thefts.
The investigation continues.
