SHEBOYGAN (WITI) -- A Sheboygan police officer was bitten multiple times by a pit bull on Friday evening, March 14th.
The officer was speaking with a citizen on a sidewalk on S. 14th St. just after 7 p.m. when the animal exited the front door of a home -- and charged the officer.
The officer reported injuries to his abdomen and right leg.
Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the officer to Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries and later released.
The dog was taken to the Humane Society pending further investigation.
