Sheriff's deputies arrest 19 sex offenders during "Trick-or-Treat"
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of 19 registered sex offenders during "Operation Trick-or-Treat" held on Sunday, October 28th.
The Sheriff’s Office partnered with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (DOC) Probation and Parole, and police departments in Milwaukee, West Allis, and West Milwaukee to ensure that sex offenders in Milwaukee County complied with DOC guidelines prohibiting interaction with trick-or-treaters.
In addition to the Sunday initiative, Sheriff’s deputies also searched for a Top Ten list of child sex offenders on Thursday and Friday.
Deputies found and arrested two on felony warrants from the Top Ten list, and one man turned himself in.
During trick-or-treat hours on Sunday, deputies conducted checks on 200 registered sex offenders. 19 sex offenders were arrested for violation of their probation and parole conditions.

The Sheriff’s Office Halloween mission was to provide a safe haven for children as they went door-to-door collecting candy from residents.
The Sheriff’s Office will continue to locate and arrest sex offenders who refuse to comply with their probation and parole conditions.
