Sheriff's Office: Five sex offenders arrested during "Operation Trick or Treat"
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office says five sex offenders were arrested as law enforcement officials checked up on registered sex offenders in advance of and during Trick-or-Treat.
The Sheriff’s Office conducted its annual “Operation Trick or Treat” initiative on Sunday, October 26th. The Sheriff’s Office partnered with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections (DOC) Probation and Parole, and police departments in Milwaukee, West Allis, West Milwaukee and Greenfield to ensure that sex offenders in Milwaukee County complied with DOC guidelines prohibiting interaction with trick-or-treaters.
In addition to the Sunday initiative, Sheriff’s deputies and the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force also conducted warrant sweeps on Thursday and Friday, clearing nine warrants with arrests of subjects wanted for sex crimes.
During trick-or-treat hours on Sunday, deputies conducted checks on 219 registered sex offenders. Five sex offenders were arrested for violation of their probation and parole conditions on Sunday.

The Sheriff’s Office Halloween mission was to provide a safe haven for children as they went door to door collecting candy from residents. The Sheriff’s Office will continue to locate and arrest sex offenders who refuse to comply with their probation and parole conditions.
