Sheriff's Office makes 20 arrests during "warrant sweeps"

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office says officials were able to clear 37 warrants and make 20 arrests during "warrant sweeps" in two days leading up to the St. Patrick's Day weekend.

The Sheriff's Office's Criminal Investigation Division conducted the DUI-related warrant sweeps with teams from the Apprehension Unit and were able to make 53 warrant attempts.

The Sheriff's Office conducts these sweeps periodically in order to gather valuable intelligence that can update old warrant information for future operations.
