Sheriff's Office: Shots fired into vehicle on I-43 NB, between Hampton & Silver Spring

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee County Sheriff's officials on Thursday afternoon, July 23rd were called out to I-43 northbound for a report of shots fired into a vehicle.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. on I-43 northbound between Hampton Avenue and Silver Spring Drive.

Sheriff's officials say the vehicle had a bullet hole in its left tail light -- but no one was injured.

The victim told officials he was approaching Hampton Avenue when he saw a late model SUV -- possibly a Chevy Tahoe, coming up on him at a high rate of speed.

Vehicles in the adjacent lane prevented him from moving over immediately, and he slowed down to attempt to change lanes.

The victim told officials he then heard a gunshot -- and exited at Silver Spring Drive.

The victim described the driver of the SUV as an African-American male in his 30s or 40s.
