Sheriff's officials looking for wanted suspect who fled deputies

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee County Sheriff's officials are looking for a suspect they say fled deputies at high speeds early Saturday morning, May 19th.

Sheriff's officials say deputies attempted to stop the driver of a grey, Chevy Malibu traveling northbound on US 45 at West Hampton Avenue for suspicion of drunk driving. The driver did not stop, fleeing from deputies, and traveling at speeds reaching 120 mph.

Due to the dangerous speeds and nature of the attempted stop, Sheriff’s deputies ended the pursuit.

There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.

Sheriff’s deputies located the suspect’s abandoned vehicle a short time later on North Mayfair Road.

The driver was identified as 28-year-old Ricky Jefferson from Milwaukee. Jefferson has a misdemeanor warrant for Disorderly Conduct and a felony warrant for Escape from Felmer’s Correctional Facility in Milwaukee.

Jefferson was last seen in the area of North 27th Street and West Atkinson Avenue wearing a black shirt, black pants and a single black Nike Air Jordan shoe.

Anyone with information regarding Jefferson’s whereabouts is urged to call the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office at 414-278-4788.
