Shooting closes I-43 SB
MILWAUKEE -- A shooting led to the closure of southbound I-43 at Keefe Avenue and Locust Street Monday night, Oct. 14, Milwaukee police confirmed.
Officials say the shooting happened on southbound I-43 near 8th and Keefe around 8:30 p.m. The shooting victim, 19, was taken to the hospital from a McDonald's restaurant near 9th and North Avenue. Police said the shooting victim's injuries were not life-threatening.
The closure took place just before 9:15 p.m., and the freeway was reopened by 11:30 p.m.
Police are seeking a known suspect.
