OZAUKEE COUNTY (WITI) -- Crews and residents in Port Washington and other areas north of Milwaukee were dealing with wet, heavy snow and slippery, snow-covered roadways as the storm moved through on Thursday, February 7th.
The snow stuck to the roadways and slowed up traffic Thursday afternoon -- and particularly during rush hour.
Meanwhile, the snow meant for fun for the kids!
Blocks from where Melissa Centgraf dug out on Thursday night, Phallyn and his dad, George Basgall were working to build a snowman.
Port Washington's Director of Streets told FOX6 News plows were out early Thursday morning, and will stay out until the snow stops falling and the streets are cleared.
Erik Ziehr and his friends had some fun with their homemade snowboard ramp on Thursday.
"I was kind of hoping for a snow day today, but that didn't happen," Ziehr said.
FOX6 News came upon a two vehicle crash that was one of many fender benders on Thursday. Both drivers were okay.
Visibility was diminished north of Milwaukee, as the snow continued to fall into Thursday night.
