Six Milwaukee police officers honored for bravery
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Milwaukee Common Council honored six Milwaukee police officers on Tuesday morning, February 11th.
The officers risked their own safety on Tuesday morning, February 4th to make sure all residents were evacuated from a burning apartment complex near 70th and Silver Spring.
The six officers went door to door (see pictures below) to check on the residents as they conducted a search of the apartment complex. If there was no answer, they kicked down the door to make sure the unit was cleared. The complex is located adjacent to the District 4 station.
Police Sergeant Patrick Brousseau, Police Officer Kenneth Daugherty, Police Officer Rufaro Davis, Police Officer Shalamar LeFlore, Police Officer Phillip Lewis and Police Officer Andrew Moutry from District 4 were recognized for their bravery.
