Snow keeps folks in southeastern Wisconsin busy this weekend; plowing, shoveling and salting

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- It has been awhile since we've had to shovel and drive in snowy conditions -- but this past weekend, we saw snowfall in southeastern Wisconsin. Light snow fell both Saturday, January 3rd and Sunday, January 4th. We'll see bitterly cold temperatures before the next system bringing us snow moves in early this week.

At 8:00 a.m. Sunday, Matt Lawson was heading home after a night of driving for work.

"It's been slipping and sliding pretty much all evening, but this isn't too bad. I mean, it's really not. We should be used to it by now. We're all from Wisconsin. This is nothing new," Lawson said.

Tracey was busy shoveling and spreading salt on the sidewalks Sunday morning.

"This is the way we make our living -- off of snow, so we sit in front of the window and we wish for snow," Tracey said.

Tracey started working around 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

"This is a job for somebody who don't mind getting up early in the morning," Tracey said.

Steve Pillar was busy plowing snow Sunday morning. He had 12 acres to plow -- a necessary job, but one he's not too fond of.

"I`ve been remembering last winter and remembering how much I hated plowing at the end of the winter and that the novelty of plowing wears off very fast," Pillar said.

When you live in Wisconsin, plowing and shoveling are chores you have to get used to!

The next storm system expected to bring us snow will move into the area Monday night.

FOX6 Weather Expert Vince Condella says the snow will mainly fall from 9:00 p.m. Monday through 6:00 a.m. Tuesday.
