"So much tasty popcorn:" Man attempts to break world record with nine pounds of popcorn!

OREGON -- An Oregon man attempting to break a world record by eating popcorn -- wasn't able to accomplish the feat.

Ryan Rodecker, a competitive eater, took part in the popcorn eating contest in Salem, Oregon on Tuesday, December 1st.

Rodecker was eager to break the world record for the amount of popcorn eaten in 30 minutes.

"Popcorn Fetti," a specialty popcorn shop, provided nine pounds of popcorn for Rodecker to eat.

"I'm attempting the popcorn eating world record. This is nine pounds almost -- just under 120 oz of fresh made popcorn. It's the size of my torso. I have 30 minutes. I feel that no matter what, win or lose, this is going to be a great one and I get to eat so much popcorn -- so much tasty popcorn," Rodecker said before the competition began.

In the end, Rodecker ate two pounds of popcorn in a half-hour.
