Soaring in January: Mitchell International Airport sees passenger traffic grow
MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee’s Mitchell International Airport (MKE) announced on Monday, March 7th that passenger traffic grew by 6.12% in January 2016 when compared to the previous year. The airport saw 493,180 passengers travel through its gates during the month.
In addition to the passenger growth, the airport also saw an increase of more than 2.5% in cargo traffic.
New Airport Director Izzy Bonilla issued the following statement in a news release:
“We are working closely with air carriers, both current and new, to continue to grow nonstop service here at MKE, and the additions by Southwest and Frontier are a great start. In addition to new air service, we are also analyzing everything we do here at MKE to make the already customer-friendly passenger experience even better.”
