"Soup Nazi" helps collect soup for people in need
BROWN DEER (WITI) --"No soup for you!" Just about everybody knows and loves that famous line. But actor Larry Thomas is using his celebrity status as the Soup Nazi to help people in need.
"I'm actually lucky enough to be associated with soup and it`s a great charity idea," says Thomas.
Thomas is teaming up with Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin and the Milwaukee Admirals for Wednesday night's game against the Houston Aeros.
Everyone that comes to the game and brings a can of soup will get a buy one, get one free voucher for a future admirals game, and you'll get an opportunity to meet the Soup Nazi.
"I can on a dime go, 'no soup for you,' and people jump and I go that`s my goal," says Thomas.
In just the last year, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin has seen a 15% increase in need.
The soup donations will help the more than 300,000 people they serve.
"As quick as we`re going to get this soup in this evening, it`s going to go out the front door just as quickly tomorrow," says Keith Michalski with Feeding American Eastern Wisconsin.
Thomas made an appearance on "Real Milwaukee" to promote the event.
Although he played a mean guy on "Seinfeld," he's actually quite nice.
"Everyone goes you`re so nice. You`re not like the Soup Nazi and I always say you have to talk to my son because he sees the real me," says Thomas.
But you still might want to listen to him.
"They better show up with their soup you know or else I`m going to have to say it, 'no soup for you,'" say Thomas.
Tonight's Admirals game against the Houston Aeros is at 7pm at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
The event also celebrates the 22nd anniversary of the premier of "Seinfeld."
