WEST ALLIS -- State Fair's "Stratosphere" ride could re-open Sunday, August 5th after it was shut down Saturday. State Fair officials say the ride was shut down after a safety gauge on the ride was initiated Saturday.
The safety gauge initiated a shut down of the ride while riders were aboard. Fair officials were able to get all the riders off the ride safely.
Fair inspectors planned to check the ride and determine whether it would be safe to re-open.
The "Stratosphere" is a 200-foot swing, and is a new ride to State Fair this year.
