Stepping down: Craig Culver to retire as CEO of the Culver's restaurant chain

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Culver's co-founder Craig Culver is stepping down as CEO of the restaurant chain.

Known for its frozen custard and butter burgers, the chain is based in Prairie du Sac and began in 1984 under Craig Culver and his wife, Lea Culver.

Phil Keiser has been announced as Culver's successor.

Keiser has long served with the company -- most recently as president and COO of Culver Franchising System.
