Steve "The Homer" True headed home from hospital

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Radio personality Steve "The Homer" True is on his way home from the hospital after being involved in a collision with an accused drunk driver in Milwaukee.

That word came from Twitter on Friday afternoon, November 15th.

Just before 6 p.m. on Friday, True tweeted himself...

Police say 59-year-old True was headed eastbound on Hampton on Wednesday, November 13th, when he was struck by a car driven by a 44-year-old Milwaukee man that was headed eastbound on Fond du Lac.

Witnesses say the crash happened when the 44-year-old man failed to stop for a red traffic signal.

Police say the 44-year-old driver of the vehicle that struck True’s vehicle was arrested on intoxicated use of a motor vehicle, causing great bodily harm. A source familiar with the crash scene says the driver already has a past conviction involving OWI.

True is a well-known radio talk show host for ESPN 540, where he is the co-host of the “Homer and Thunder” show from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on weekdays. True has also announced for Marquette men’s basketball games for decades.
