Student robbed at gunpoint, sexually assaulted feet from UWM campus
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police are seeking a suspect wanted for an armed robbery and sexual assault on Milwaukee’s East Side.
Officers were dispatched to neighborhood just north of Locust and Oakland at approximately 11:00 p.m. on Monday, August 18th.
A 19-year-old woman reported that she was approached by a man who demanded her belongings at gunpoint.
"A girl was saying to just take whatever she had and to just leave," said Joshua Sasman.
Those are words Sasman never expected to hear outside of his window.
"I heard the man tell her to get on the ground, face down and to be quiet," said Sasman.
The suspect then sexually assaulted the victim and took her property before fleeing on foot.
Sasman called 911 -- and moments later saw the suspect flee. He waited with the victim until police arrived.
"I'm just glad I had my window open and I was able to hear what was going on, otherwise, it could've been worse," said Sasman.
The suspect is described as a male, black, in his mid-20s, between 5’6”-5’7” tall, 150-160 pounds, and a slim build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a dark flat brim hat.
Anyone with information is asked to call Milwaukee Police at 414-935-7360.
