Summerfest headliners for Johnson Controls World Sound Stage

MILWAUKEE (WITI) – Summerfest officials are excited to announce the highly anticipated lineup of headliners slated for the new Johnson Controls World Sound Stage with Blue Moon and 88Nine RadioMilwaukee during Summerfest 2013.

Earlier this year, Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. and Johnson Controls announced a three-year sponsorship agreement beginning with this year’s 46th annual Summerfest.   The sponsorship gave Johnson Controls naming and promotional rights to a major stage located near the Summerfest Mid Gate.  Johnson Controls turned to a group of its employees, representing all of the company's businesses, to brainstorm and choose the best name for the stage.   Employees voted for Johnson Controls World Sound Stage as the best fit.

“Giving employees a chance to name the stage was a great way to involve them in our support of Summerfest, as well as provide another opportunity for our people to support the community,” said Charles A. Harvey, vice president Diversity and Public Affairs at Johnson Controls.  “Summerfest is a world-class cultural attraction for the city and we are glad to share a role in bringing great entertainment to our stage.”

The integrated marketing partnership will also allow Johnson Controls to consult with Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. and aide in the effort to improve the efficiencies of the stage and event operations at Henry Maier Festival Park.

The stage’s lineup will appeal to a wide fan base and feature a mix of acts spanning genres including R&B, blues, world beat and soul.
