Local coaches watch their players in Super Bowl
On the biggest night in sports, two football players from Wisconsin are proving that dreams are never too big.
BROWN DEER, Wis. - On the biggest night in sports, two athletes from southeast Wisconsin went head-to-head.
Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Zack Baun played at Brown Deer High School and Kansas City Chief's guard Mike Caliendo was a standout at Brookfield East.

There was never a doubt Zack Baun was special.

Andy and Rob Green saw the high school athlete become a star before their eyes. The brothers coached him at Brown Deer High School. Back then, he was a quarterback.

They're now watching him together as the Eagles linebacker took on the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

"Just a very explosive athlete. It’s pretty special," coach Rob Green said. "I’m pretty proud of who he is and who he is as a person and ultimately, who he is as a football player."

"Always a competitor, always wanted to win," coach Andy Green said. "If you know Zack, he’s gonna give you it all and I’m glad he landed with Philadelphia for a year."
"He's worked hard"
Local perspective:
Chief's starting left guard, Mike Caliendo, is a former Brookfield East standout. His parents are still in the area.
What they're saying:
"He's worked hard to earn his spot too, and to see that come to fruition, with actually starting for the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl? It's beyond him and us," said Sue Caliendo.

"You have to kind of go back to the first time it happened to us, and still use the cliché, it's once in a lifetime. And you know, so many great players who never got the chance. And now your son is getting that chance to go. And then it happens again. And now, he's not just on the sideline, he's on the field for a handful of plays," said Charlie Caliendo.
