"Super excited about it!" Waukesha West High School students prepare to perform with Foreigner
WAUKESHA -- Singing is everything to this group of students at Waukesha West High School.
"We all come here for the same reason and that's to make great music and to sing with each other and to have fun," said Waukesha West senior Bradley Pannicke.
Now they're preparing for the biggest concert of their career.
"The PR person knew of us so when Foreigner asked if they could provide a choir, the first thing he said was 'Waukesha West,'" said Waukesha West choir teacher, Tom Ajack.
The chamber and jazz choir students couldn't believe it when they found out they'd be performing "I Want to Know What Love Is" with Foreigner.
"A lot of our choir likes to jam out to older music so a lot of people were like, 'Oh yea, Foreigner, and super excited about it,'" said Waukesha West senior, Elisabeth Primrose.
And their parents were just as thrilled.
"My parents are actually coming along with us on this and they were like, 'Oh my gosh, I get to meet Foreigner, I get to meet Foreigner, I get to meet Foreigner,'" said Pannicke.
The students have spent hours upon hours rehearsing.
"We made up some extra harmonies in class and made a nice thick sound so that we're going to really add a lot to it," said Ajack.
Practicing for an experience that will create memories to last a lifetime.
The Waukesha West choir will be performing with Foreigner and the BMO Harris Bradley Center following the Milwaukee Admirals game on Saturday night, October 24th.
They will also be performing Saturday, from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Griffin Ford in Waukesha. Some of the Foreigner band members will be joining them for that afternoon performance before the big show.
