During negotiations, police said the suspect pointed a gun at officers, and the officers shot the suspect once in the arm. The suspect was taken to Froedtert Hospital in stable condition. A firearm was recovered, police said.
"To hear something happen like this -- it's really scary. I heard two loud bangs, and I didn't know what they were," said Jenna Amvrowiak, neighbor.

"I'm just glad none of the officers were hurt, you know? It's a scary thing that there was someone dangerous around here because there's little kids everywhere, walking around. It's a generally safe neighborhood," said Amvrowiak.
The investigation into the officer-involved shooting is ongoing -- being led by the Milwaukee Police Department, and involving the Milwaukee Area Investigative Team. The armed robbery is being investigated separately, and charges against the suspect are being referred to the district attorney.
