Suspects who stole from liquor store practically mugged for cameras

OAK CREEK (WITI) -- Oak Creek police are looking for your help to identify a couple of suspects accused of stealing from Gary's Beer & Liquor on S. Howell Ave.

Lori Hintz, owner of Gary's Beer & Liquor, says the store's many cameras captured the crime clearly from start to finish, and from several angles.

"Very clear pictures, very good, good pictures," said Hintz.

Just before 2 p.m. Friday, April 18th an outdoor camera caught two men walking into the store. Another camera inside shows them walking down an isle and heading into a restricted area.

"They must have came in the store in advance, and you know, they had their plan," said Hintz.

The men are seen walking down an area clearly marked with employee only signs. The first man ducks into a room while the second appears to keep guard.

Hintz doesn't want to reveal exactly what was taken, but says it's valuable.

"You feel very violated, you feel paranoid. You know then you look at people the way you normally don't look at them," said Hintz.

The cameras show the men walking out a different door than the one they entered, and then leaving the building.

The video doesn't show the men's car, but the images are so clear their faces are recognizable.

"We would really like the public to give us a hand to find out who did this," said Hintz.

Gary's Beer & Liquor has been in business for 38-years and Hintz says the theft felt personal.

Oak Creek Police are investigating the incident.
