KENOSHA (WITI) -- Kenosha police say a suspicious package was reported at St. Catherine's Hospital in Pleasant Prairie on Thursday afternoon, March 27th.
The package was discovered around 1:48 p.m.
The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department's Bomb Squad was sent to the scene, where they determined that the suspicious package in question was not an explosive device and was not dangerous.
An all-clear was given around 3:20 p.m.
The package was found to include sharps materials which were apparently disposed of improperly.
United Hospital Systems released a statement to FOX6 News, in which they say: "We initiated our internal processes to address the situation, which included contacting the local agencies, including the Pleasant Prairie Police Department, Pleasant Prairie Fire and Rescue Department, and the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department's Bomb Squad. Patient, visitor and employee safety was the key consideration at all times. We apologize to anyone who was inconvenienced during this time."
