DODGE COUNTY (WITI) -- Dodge County Sheriff's officials say a Mukwonago man was injured in a hunting accident on Tuesday, February 24th.
It happened shortly before 2:00 p.m. in the Township of Leroy.
Sheriff's officials say the 43-year-old Mukwonago man was shot in the face with a bird shot fired from a shotgun by a 58-year-old Richfield man.
Both men were hunting pheasants on private land when the accident occurred.
An investigation has revealed the Richfield man shot at a flying pheasant and struck the other hunter who was 40-to-50 yards away. The Mukwonago man was taken to the hospital by ambulance for injuries to his face. He is expected to be okay.
