Tanker rollover shuts down portion of northbound I-94 in Racine County

RACINE COUNTY -- All lanes are temporarily blocked on northbound I-94 at County K on Wednesday, March 8th due to a tanker rollover -- hours after the wreck first happened.

The wreck happened shortly after 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday -- and has slowed traffic for hours while crews work to clear the scene of the rolled over truck and fuel that spilled on the scene.

As of about 1:00 p.m., traffic was backed up in excess of three miles approaching the scene.

No additional details have been released -- including the cause of the crash or if any injuries were sustained. It is not clear whether this incident had anything to do with the strong winds witnessed in southeast Wisconsin on Wednesday.
