Tax report to Gov. Scott Walker offers no recommendations
MADISON (AP) — A report from Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch and Revenue Secretary Rick Chandler written after a year of meetings around Wisconsin about the state's tax climate offers no specific recommendations for changes.
They submitted the report to Gov. Scott Walker on Tuesday, December 9th.
Kleefisch and Chandler say in the report that Wisconsin's taxes are too high and too complicated, but they don't offer any specific cuts.
Walker has said he wants to lower property and income taxes. And the state chamber of commerce on Monday got behind eliminating the top income tax bracket.
Walker cut taxes by about $2 billion over his first term.
He will be releasing his tax and spending plan for the state sometime early next year.
