Texas Jay's Gentlemen's Club could temporarily lose license after April assault

MILWAUKEE -- A Walker's Point strip club could temporarily lose its license after a fight at the business.

It happened early on Saturday, April 2nd.

Police say Texas Jay's never reported the assault, even though it left one patron unconscious for about eight minutes.

Jeremy Calteux was later hospitalized for brain injuries.

"I just hope for justice, you know? That Texas Jay's is no longer able to operate their business considering they gave my son no medical help at all," Lynette Zaragoza, Calteux's mother said.

"There are no repeated and multiple incidents over time justifying revocation. The complaint alleges but one incident on one day," Michael Whitcomb, the club owner's attorney said.

Licensing Committee members recommended the full Milwaukee Common Council suspend Texas Jay's operating license for 90 days -- virtually shutting it down.

The full council will vote on June 14th.

If the committee recommendation is upheld, Texas Jay's will have the right to appeal the decision.
